Architectural Engineering

Students enter Pre-Engineering, then move into a major after its entry requirements. Most programs require a 2.0 Auburn GPA and C or better in specified calculus, science, engineering and computing courses.

For Mechanical Engineering, first-year students entering Summer 2026 through Spring 2027 must be in the College of Engineering or Division of Undergraduate Studies, have 29-55 graded Penn State credits, earn C or better in CHEM 110, EDSGN 100, MATH 140, MATH 141 and PHYS 211, and have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA before entering the major.

First-year applicants seeking admission to the Cockrell School must meet the Calculus Readiness Requirement by the December 1 admissions application deadline; Cockrell offers summer or fall admission only.

Missouri S&T admits freshmen through university-wide standards and states no separate first-year engineering admission threshold.

First-year Engineering admits directly to a degree program or engineering undecided with a 3.00 high-school GPA. There is no ACT/SAT requirement or admission cap.

Cincinnati admits first-year students directly into their major. Engineering applicants are required to complete mathematics through at least precalculus or calculus and to complete both physics and chemistry in high school.

All applicants to the College of Engineering, including students who qualify for Top 10% automatic admission, are reviewed for placement into General Engineering.

MSOE recommends a 3.2 GPA with strong pre-calculus, physics and chemistry preparation for applicants generally. No engineering-specific application or threshold is stated.

First-years apply directly to CEAS as open option or to a specific engineering major; the college publishes no fixed first-year GPA or test cutoff.

Students begin with pre-professional engineering coursework and later apply to their department for advancement to the professional program. College requirements include completion of all pre-professional courses with C or better, at least 12 hours of required math, science and engineering courses at UTA, compliance with the three-attempt rule, and the applicable departmental GPA and transition requirements.

First-years apply to Engineering as their chosen major; all Cal Poly majors are impacted and applicants compete within the major. The admission threshold varies with major capacity and applicant pool.

Engineering students enter the college first, then seek Professional Admission to a degree program after at least 43 applicable credits. Major-specific GPA and course standards apply.

Engineering freshman admission requires KU admission, a 3.0 high-school GPA, and qualifying math preparation such as ACT Math 22/SAT Math 540, C in high-school calculus, or an accepted placement/credit option.

NC A&T's engineering admissions page applies the university's undergraduate entrance requirements and states no separate competitive engineering application.

First-year applicants choose a degree program and can be admitted directly to it. Engineering receives major-specific STEM review; four years of math and science are recommended, including pre-calculus and physics.

First-year engineering applicants need 4 years of math through pre-calculus, plus 1 year each of chemistry and physics with labs.

Mechanical Engineering is available after UW admission; the program page states no separate competitive Engineering admission screen.

Prospective students apply to the College of Engineering through The University of Alabama Undergraduate Admissions application. There is no separate application for admission to the College of Engineering except for Musical Audio Engineering, which requires a School of Music audition.

Current OU students enter Gallogly engineering majors after completing at least 24 college hours and the stated college requirements. Some majors, including aerospace and mechanical engineering, require a 3.0 GPA.

Full freshman engineering admission requires ACT 21 with math 22 or SAT 1050 with math 560. Lower scores place students in pre-engineering or alternate pre-engineering.

Engineering students must pass the Engineering Entrance Examination with at least 75% on calculus, chemistry and physics before upper-division courses. Eligibility requires C grades and a 2.5 GPA in specified prerequisites.

First-year applicants to the College of Engineering receive a separate comprehensive engineering review. The College requires a minimum 3.0 core GPA and considers mathematics and science completion and grades and senior-year coursework.

Engineering's freshman preparation recommendations do not create a separate program admission bar. The school uses University of Miami undergraduate admission for incoming students.
